Fun at the lake

Huge picture overload. I took so many but these are just a few of them. Enjoy!
Tegan got down in dirty right off the bat...muddy lake water but cute boy!

Rylee loved the boat!

Not even half the kids on my side of the family! We are up to 10 grand kids with one more grand kid being born on June 8th and the first great grandchild sometime in July....lots of kids but at least we keep it even, by the end of July there will be 6 girls and 6 boys!
Sweet Caden was a good little model for me! (my nephew)

Another nephew...same mama, Zach

Me and my hubby who never smiles. Darrin got him to smile by talking about money! Of course he finally smiles in a picture when I have crazy boat hair!

Tegan driving the boat with Pop!

Sweet Tegan!

Darrin learned his lesson last time and smiled this time!

Me and my sweet girl!

My mom (a.k.a Nanny) and Rylee talking on the boat ride!

Jacob driving the boat all by himself. Is it just me or are all these boys starting to look alike??? Tegan and Caden both had on blue t-shirts and from behind you couldn't tell who was who!
A great time was had by all at the lake on Saturday.

SIT HANK!

Kind of sounds more like s_it hank when it is being said by my 22 month old.
Have I ever mentioned that Tegan loves Hank or atleast he loves Hank from a distance, get him to close and Tegan is not much of a fan. He loves him to the point that he looks out the back window of the house that faces Hank and yells at him throughout the day. Lucky for Hank he doesn't hear him...me, not so lucky. Anyways I think he thinks all dogs are named Hank. When we are outside playing and let Hank out to run, Tegan thinks he should run after him yelling "S_IT HANK!" It's all very cute in a weird sort of way (you know, the fact that my kid is saying a dirty word very loudly where all the neighbors can hear).

I think Tegan was trying to lure Hank in to trouble!!

Like a different kid....

And by that I mean it in multiple ways. Today I took my little guy to have his hair cut b/c it was looking like this...

Most people think the random curl on his forehead is cute but it drives me nuts. So I geared up for yet another horrible haircut experience....not the haircut its self but the reaction of the child while getting the haircut. Last time I had suckers and m&m's which just left a huge mess and I'm pretty sure my boy ate a lot of hair. Anyways it didn't help b/c as he ate the sucker, m&m's and hair...he still screamed. But not today....today he sat in my lap like a big boy and never made a sound. Not a single cry or movement, he just sat there. I wasn't even sure for a minute if he was really my kid b/c the kid I know does not sit still...EVER!!! Anyways this is what we ended up with and he is mighty handsome if I do say so myself!

I'm cute and I know it!!! Either cute or evil!

Turn your back and I will be on your kitchen table!

A Special Treat

Tonight we went to a memorial day meal at my mom's. When we got home I asked Rylee to do what she always does and open Tegan's door and stand there with him while I carry in our bags and other things we drag with us when we leave the house for two hours. Anyways I was headed back out to get Teg out of the car and I heard Rylee (who didn't see me coming) say to Tegan "maybe if you ask him he will come." Well I couldn't even imagine what she was talking about so I scared her first and then asked her what was she talking about. She went on to tell me that she knew that I always wanted a big family and thought that maybe if her and Tegan both ask Cohen to come back from heaven then maybe he would do it. It literally brought tears to my eyes for two reasons....Yes I always wanted a big family but all my pregnancy troubles caused me to not have the heart to deal with pregnancy again but it made me sad that Rylee thinks that her and Tegan aren't enough. The second is that I only wish I had her innocents to believe that she could wish her baby brother back to earth....sometimes I wish the same thing but I realize the horrible reality.
This story gets a little better here. Immediately after she says that to me she looks up and out across the field there is a beautiful rainbow albeit a half rainbow but it was beautiful to us and that is b/c Rylee believes that the rainbow was Cohen's way of letting us know he is there in heaven and in our hearts. She thought it was the greatest thing ever....and so did I!!!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

So this is probably going to be more like the Ugly, bad and then good. But anyways I had a wild hair on Friday night and decided to throw some nice clothes on the kids and take them to a little park area that is sooooo pretty and take some pictures of them. Let's just say that Tegan saw some open ground and wanted to run over every inch of it. Then there was the stairs that he was determined to throw himself down but I must say I was successful in stopping that but not without a few spankings!!! Although the spankings turned out to be a blessing b/c after the crying stopped he became a little ham!!
THE UGLY

THE BAD

He was constantly running away from me and the camera:)

Sneak Peak

Sneak Peak since blogger is uploading my photos way to slow and I can hear the tractor that Paul has Tegan on nearing my house (which means he is bringing him home), I don't have time to pick my favs and upload them all so here is one for you to see.

I took the kids last night (all by myself) to a beautiful place near our house and took some pictures of them. It was not fun to say the least and I will post a few pictures to let you know why. After finally spanking Tegan, I was able to get him to stop running away from us and heading toward the large amount of steps that he was determined to tumble down! But I did get a few good shots....at least I hope so b/c I took 130 pictures!

Kindergarten Build-up

All that hype about starting "BIG KID" school and boom, in the blink of an eye it is over. I can't believe that little miss to cool for her own good is going to be in first grade. We are in so much trouble that she is growing so fast. Her legs have gotten so long lately that I fear in another two years that she will be taller than me. She had two awesome teachers in kindergarten and she loved every minute of school. She learned all of her sight words well before the end of the year and can read any book you put in front of her. She loves to write stories and even won 3rd place in a writing contest out of the entire (5 classes) kindergarten. It was a story all about her brother. So sweet!!! She is so well rounded and adjust in every situation. She is nice to everyone and even when they are mean to her, she doesn't realize it. She is an amazing child and we are so blessed she is ours!!!
Always fabulous....even on field day!

Two of her best buds in her class

This is the little boy in her class that she says she is going to marry.

Field day fun on a water slide!!

A New Purse and Magnetic Snaps

I recently tried out a new purse pattern and loved it. I'm still not sure what I think about the awkward vertical strip of fabric down the front but I guess it gives it character. I found this fabric and just loved it although it is a little different but perfect for spring and summer. If you know me, you know that I am 100% self taught when it comes to sewing. There is lots of trail and error. Well yesterday I decided that I wanted to try magnetic snaps in the top of the bag and it turned out great and was so easy to do. Definitely looks better than using a tie ribbon to close. Although my bag is usually so full that I can't even get it closed with a snap or zipper. Anyways here are just a few pictures (o.k. a lot of pictures) of the bag.

A MUSICIAN IN THE MAKING

Rylee started piano lessons back in January. Any one who knows Rylee knows that her favorite thing to do is perform....mostly singing. So she decided that she wanted to take piano lessons. Then she decided she didn't but we pushed her through that sudden change of heart and now I am so glad that she did it b/c she is starting to really take to it and seems to enjoy it. She had her very first recital this past weekend and she did wonderful. She played the complicated two hand version of Twinkle Twinkle little Star and did it perfect. She was so proud of herself. She was even prouder that her Nanny brought her a rose!!!

I rallied and somehow managed to get her a recital dress made at the last minute. It turned out so cute. They had to wear either solid white or solid black so instead of spending money on a dress I just made it.

Pretend playing!

I love her dress and yes, her mommy made it!!

Take one like this mom!!

Not the best picture but I wanted her to remember that I was a part of her life b/c I am always behind the camera and never in a picture.

Below are just of few of Rylee's supporters at the recital. I didn't get Amy and Brian for some reason. Larkin was also there but we were sitting very far apart. I did get a picture of Rylee with her daddy but he would appreciate me not putting that picture on here.

Much better Darrin. Melissa (aunt Meme), My mom(nanny), Pop, Rylee and the precious rose!

Rylee and Grandma (Paul's mom) and of course the rose.
