15 Months and Walking!

I have been having some sort of Bloggers Block lately. Not necessarily that there hasn't been anything to write about but more so that I just either haven't had time or just didn't want to sit here and do it. That and the fact that I am now addicted to facebook and constantly catching up with people on there and can't seem to make time to clean my house much less update my blog pretty regular. Sorry....I'll do better!

So Tegan has recently passed the 15 month mark. Can you believe my little/big boy is 15 months already. Just yesterday I was laid in a hospital being told I couldn't get out of bed b/c he was wanting to make a 20 week entrance and today he is a handsome little man. A little man he is b/c I don't think you can call a kid of his size a baby anymore and he is almost to heavy to be a toddler. What can I say...the boy loves to eat. He had his 15 month check-up yesterday and for the first time since his birth I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. This time last year we were in a tailspin of MRI's, eye doctors, blood work and specialist from Medical College of Georgia. We had no idea what was going on with him or what to expect. One year later, here we are with a boy who weighed in at almost 27 lbs and was 33 1/2 inches long. He is in the 75th for his weight and the 95th for his height. Good thing he is so tall or else he would still be a butterball with a rather large head. By still, I mean he was a butterball with a very large head at one time.

Oh and the big news that I was am happy to share with you and with the doctor is that we now have a boy who WALKS! Finally! I was so worried b/c the Dr. had said that he would need to go back in to physical therapy if he did not start walking by 15 months. Well a week and a half ago he started and now he is practicing all day. Don't get me wrong, if he wants something or someone he will still crawl b/c he wants to get there very fast. But for the most part he is walking.
He says a few words: Mama (not to me though), Dada, Night Night, Ry Ry, Bye Bye and the big word is BITE. When the boy can see food or wants it, he will yell BITE. Imagine going through the grocery store with him yelling BITE, BITE, BITE the whole way. He is following some commands that we give him like telling him to lay his head down or hand us his passy or go to the bath tub.

He is seeing an ENT today for all these dang ear infections and runny noses. I am holding out hope that he will get the tubes in sooner rather than later b/c as of yesterday he had a build up of fluid behind his ear that was not yet an ear infection but will be one soon!
I have most recently noticed that when he is at home and comfortable in his surroundings he shows little to no signs of his Nystagmus. But when in a crowded place, around a lot of people or in an unfamiliar place his Nystagmus shows....sometimes more than others.
Teggie loves his sister and follows her everywhere. She loves him too except when he pinches her or pulls her hair. Usually though he is doing that to get back at her for not letting him do something. She is such a little mommy!

I am just glad to post that after a whole year of physical and occupational therapy the Dr. finally is considering Tegan pretty caught up. He is now within the normal range for pretty much everything. He is still going to occupational therapy but we hope to be ending that soon and letting him grow and develop on his own. He has definitely came along why when at 6 months of age he wasn't even showing signs of being able to see much less do anything else. I'm so proud of him and honestly believe that all my prayers are being answered everyday!

Look at ME!

Two peas in a pod!

Teg can scream with the best of them!
