I saw the light...

Rylee had her music recital this past Sunday. She was the hit of the show if I do say so myself! I'm still not sure how she does this without getting nervous. I think Paul was more nervous for her than I was this time. Sorry the video is so dark...not sure why but at least you can hear her. Oh and it's a little shaky...I like to take pictures not do videos! Enjoy!

Moving forward backwards

The accidental photography business has continued to do well. I had 5 sessions just this weekend and lots more scheduled throughout the end of November. I can honestly say I LOVE taking pictures! Every time I take them, I rush home to pull them up on the computer and get a better look at them. I have to force myself to step back and give it a day or so before I start pulling them apart and editing them. Looking at them with fresh eyes helps me to not delete a picture before looking at it really well.
I did pictures of this wonderful family a few weeks ago. I am starting with them and doing a post on each session. They were great to take pictures of and their girls are so beautiful.

I'm starting with this one b/c it was one of my favorites. It was a very real moment.

What a beautiful family!

This girl is not only beautiful but she is so sweet.

Sassy pants here was all about having her picture made. I loved it. She is so cute!

I got so many great pictures of this family, it was so hard to choose which ones to put up. I wanted to put all the great ones up but I would be sitting here waiting on blogger to upload for way to long. Plus another photographer has recently brought to my attention the whole less is more thing....a few great pictures is better than hundreds of great pictures, it makes a bigger impact.

It was an accident....

Seriously, it wasn't my intentions! A friend laughed at me recently b/c I told him that I "accidentally started a small photography business", He thought I was just being funny but really, I was being serious. My husband bought me a great SLR camera for Mother's Day last year for two reasons: the first is that I just wanted it but the main reason is that Tegan has an eye condition...holding his head up straight and looking right at the camera is not a strong point for him. Other people wouldn't take pictures of him if he wasn't just perfect in his pose. So I asked for a camera and no one but me has taken his or Rylee's picture since. Those pictures of my children have went on to become pictures of other kids and then pictures of families and then pictures of others kids and families two and three times a weekend. If I said that I loved taking pictures as a form of income I would be telling a lie. I have had a lot of different jobs but photography takes the cake and is definitely a future career option. We just never know what is ahead of us and photography wasn't a plan of mine but boy do I love it. I am working on me a new website and getting all that stuff together. But for now...here are a few family pictures of some recent sessions I have done.

Happy Rainy Freakin Halloween!

So here we are again...another rainy Saturday in Georgia and it just happens to be Halloween.

Where have I been lately...well doing school work, sewing, taking pictures of people, cleaning (very little), kids, cooking, you get the picture! Sorry I have been slack on the blog the past week but I have lots of pictures to come. I have been doing tons of photography sessions and have been seeing an improvement in my pictures. I have two more sessions tomorrow and four next week! I have been slowly working on a website that I will post on here when I get it ready. Nothing to fancy just a place for you to view some of my pictures and get prices.

That's all for today....here's to trick-or-treating in the rain:)

That's just life!

Last night I did a photo session of a group that was hands down very photogenic. I will post more pictures of them later as the mom sees them and tells me I can. I want her to get to see most of them first. But to start with I wanted to do a little background on what it took to get to this session! We had the pictures scheduled for last Sat. The weather man called for a beautiful day so we were good to go. Well on the Wed. night before the session, the 4(almost 5) year old decided to curl her hair and ended up burning her forehead with a curling iron. So we debated on canceling and decided to go ahead. Then Mom and Dad of the group fell ill to something between a cold and the flu but we decided to go ahead anyway (I can hear you all now...."What a germaphobe won't do for a little money!") Anyways, I wake up to that beautiful Saturday morning only to see rain and some really cold weather. So the session was put off! Mom and Dad finally recovered from being on the brink of death and we re-scheduled for last night (Thurs.). I get to the location we were doing the pics and the gates are locked. So at the risk of being arrested....we went over the gate. Nothing was going to stop us from doing these pics. Well when I first saw Miss thing's burnt forehead I was a little worried but mom kept saying "That's just life". The session was lots of fun and I got lots and lots of great pictures of the whole family. Luckily in most of the family pictures, you can't see the place on Miss Thing's head but every single picture of this adorable spunky little girl by herself shows that spot on her. I was a little worried about how mom was going to feel about the place showing up so much but she keeps giving the same response..."That's just Life!"

The odd thing to me right now is that in this picture....you can barely see the place but in my editing software....it's bright and can be. Maybe it is just life:)
