Rebel with a cause

I want one of these....

I mean I really want one. To the point that I have subliminally bribed asked for one for Mother's Day and my upcoming birthday for the next three years. Yes they are super expensive but I still want it. I am a practical person, with practical needs. I never buy myself any thing (well maybe sometimes but nothing big). I never take my children to have their pictures made b/c one it cost to much and two I just forget. So I thought if I had one of these I could take really awesome pictures of my kids and of Shannon's new baby so that she will know that she exist before the age of two!!!! This is a professional level camera that the digital imaging specialist (that's what she called herself) at Best Buy said is so hard to use....maybe so but I want it. I really want it. Paul(aka the man with the money), do you read my blog????

Immunizations Complete!!!

When Tegan was younger and having tons of developmental delays his pediatrician quit giving him all of his vaccinations until we could figure out what was going on. So he got the two month ones on schedule but after that he didn't start getting anymore until almost a year old.

Now I am not one of those mothers who thinks we shouldn't vaccinate at all but I am one of those mother's that thinks 3 or 5 shots all at one time is way to much for any Body to process much less a baby's body. Immunizations do cause autism, they don't cause autism, who knows, etc... this is what we hear in the news everyday and none of us know what to believe. So I have to say that I was totally over joyed when the pediatric neurologist Tegan was seeing suggested that he NEVER get more than one shot at a time as to not overwhelm his little system. See if you choose to do one shot at a time just b/c that's what you want then Insurance may not pay for it but if a Dr. suggest that you do it that way then insurance covers it 100%. We fall in that "the Dr. suggested it" category and for that I am thankful. So we have slowly been getting shots here and there and about three weeks ago they said that he only had a few more to get so we have been going every week for three weeks and finally we are all caught up! Well except for the MMR shot. I am putting off that shot until there is a measles, mumps or rubella outbreak he starts preschool and they force me to get it. I feel like that will give his little body time to recover from all these previous shots he has had and hopefully there will be no issue with it. I'm not a Dr. (although my family thinks that I think I am) but this is just my decision after all that I have read over the past almost two years.
It's hard to know what to do. With Rylee, I never thought twice about getting her the shots on schedule so I assumed it would be the same with Tegan. So when the pediatrician and neurologist suggested that we should air on the side of caution it definitely set alarms off in my head. Tegan is doing awesome and no longer showing any delays so I truly think that I should have no fear. But I'm just not ready to do something that I can't take back.
I'm just glad all these shots are over and I don't have to keep going in to the Dr.'s office and risk getting pig Swine Flu!!!! (that was a joke people....well, kind of)

Welcome to my new home....

for those of you that already knew this as my home...please disregard the title. For those of you coming over from my family blog....what do you think???
I worked and worked to make my very own header and it turned out o.k. I think. It's not totally my own, I got some of it from www.thecutestblogontheblock.com (same with my background). I finally figured out how to have three columns instead of two and most importantly I was successful in moving all my old post from my other blog to this one. Why did I do this you ask??? Well b/c I didn't think anybody but family was really going to read my blog so I used our last name in the title. As I have noticed more and more people stopping by and reading about my family, I decided it would be a good idea to change some things. So here we are!!!
I know some of you that were here for the craft blog are a bit confused but don't worry I will still be talking about my somewhat craftiness and yours! I will also continue to do my etsy features. So do you like the new look and the whole new blog?

Combining

Since my last post I have debated and debated about combining my two blogs. Well I think I have officially decided. Hints the new look I have been working on. I am no computer person so I must say this is taking me forever and my header still doesn't look anything like I wanted it to but it's good enough I guess. So you will start seeing me move my family blog stuff to here. Don't worry, I still plan to do blog features of etsy sellers and stuff which just means that more people will see them. Hope you enjoy the new blog and hand around....it's probably going to be a bumpy ride!!!

Let's simplify!

Would you still read if I combined my family blog with this blog???? Or are you only here for the crafty stuff? I would still do some craft stuff but also update about every day life and my family. I love the name of this blog and would like to move my family blog to this blog b/c well...honestly, I just don't have time to do both so I am trying to simplify. Give me your feedback, PLEASE!!!!

"Not Me!" Monday

IS BACK!!!! MckMama and Stellan are back at home safe and sound and she is getting comfortable back in the blogging world again with Not Me! Monday.

I did not fight with my husband twice yesterday all about food!!!! I mean, I don't even really eat that much!

I did not almost forget to let the tooth fairy in to our house before going to bed the other night. Had I forgotten this would have been horrible as it was the very first tooth fairy visit to our house ever!!!

I have not been purposely scheduling Tegan's immunizations on Wed. at 1:30 just b/c I was informed by their staff that Wed. at lunch time is total disinfect the office day so when we go in at 1:30 we are the first patients in the recently sanitized area. It smells so clean!!!

That's really all I got for you today! I'm tired!

The great gift

Rylee went to a princess party last weekend in Watkinsville and I couldn't think of what in the world to get the little birthday girl. If she is anything like Rylee (and I know she is) she already has everything and more that doesn't cost an arm and leg. So I used some princess fabric I had and made her a little bag and put some small inexpensive stuff in it. It was a big hit and she loved....So did the mom!!!

Below are pictures of these super cute little brain blaster question books. They are super cute and are for all different ages. The came form the Dollar Tree! Rylee got one for Easter and loves it so I had to go on the hunt for them and bought 10 of them for all different ages to put up as gifts.
