Happy Rainy Freakin Halloween!

So here we are again...another rainy Saturday in Georgia and it just happens to be Halloween.

Where have I been lately...well doing school work, sewing, taking pictures of people, cleaning (very little), kids, cooking, you get the picture! Sorry I have been slack on the blog the past week but I have lots of pictures to come. I have been doing tons of photography sessions and have been seeing an improvement in my pictures. I have two more sessions tomorrow and four next week! I have been slowly working on a website that I will post on here when I get it ready. Nothing to fancy just a place for you to view some of my pictures and get prices.

That's all for today....here's to trick-or-treating in the rain:)

That's just life!

Last night I did a photo session of a group that was hands down very photogenic. I will post more pictures of them later as the mom sees them and tells me I can. I want her to get to see most of them first. But to start with I wanted to do a little background on what it took to get to this session! We had the pictures scheduled for last Sat. The weather man called for a beautiful day so we were good to go. Well on the Wed. night before the session, the 4(almost 5) year old decided to curl her hair and ended up burning her forehead with a curling iron. So we debated on canceling and decided to go ahead. Then Mom and Dad of the group fell ill to something between a cold and the flu but we decided to go ahead anyway (I can hear you all now...."What a germaphobe won't do for a little money!") Anyways, I wake up to that beautiful Saturday morning only to see rain and some really cold weather. So the session was put off! Mom and Dad finally recovered from being on the brink of death and we re-scheduled for last night (Thurs.). I get to the location we were doing the pics and the gates are locked. So at the risk of being arrested....we went over the gate. Nothing was going to stop us from doing these pics. Well when I first saw Miss thing's burnt forehead I was a little worried but mom kept saying "That's just life". The session was lots of fun and I got lots and lots of great pictures of the whole family. Luckily in most of the family pictures, you can't see the place on Miss Thing's head but every single picture of this adorable spunky little girl by herself shows that spot on her. I was a little worried about how mom was going to feel about the place showing up so much but she keeps giving the same response..."That's just Life!"

The odd thing to me right now is that in this picture....you can barely see the place but in my editing software....it's bright and can be. Maybe it is just life:)

Why are you following me with that camera

Seriously...I'm pretty sure this little lady was wondering why I was following her. This past Sunday the weather finally cooperated and let me do a photography session. Of course it would work this way...you know, we have been in a drought for a few years and the minute I start doing something outside, we flood every weekend! I have two sessions scheduled this weekend and it looks like I scheduled them perfect. I have one on Thursday night (not exactly the weekend), then the rain starts on Friday and into Saturday, then it clears up and I have a session with a large family on Sunday. I am soooo excited about the large family and the whole generation thing. Today I wanted to show you a few pics of the PRECIOUS little girl I did some pictures of on Sunday. The overall session was focused on the family of three for their Christmas card but I couldn't resist this little beauty. And She was all about exploring which means that I could just follow her around and got some great pics. I'll post some of the family shots later but for now here are a few of Miss K....

My favorite one of the whole day.

That's the "stop following me with that big black thing in your hand" look!

The little church was unlocked (which has never happened before) so we did a few pics inside....I wonder if that was o.k.??

Sneaky Sneaky! She was planning her escape!

I love this one. I think she was mad at that rock but I'm not sure...maybe it was me:)
This little lady was very quiet and curious, which makes the best subjects. No screaming and crying or any of that. Just a lot of running!

Rain Rain Go Away

Please don't come back again to stay!!! We have been getting lots of rain here in Georgia. Every time it comes a flood all I hear is "I know we need it but" PEOPLE...WE DON"T NEED IT ANYMORE! I think it is safe to say that the drought is over. I heard on the news tonight that lakes that haven't been full pool in years are above full pool now. Let's stop asking for rain and maybe we will stop getting it.
At first it was nice. You know, it would rain and I wouldn't leave the house for days but now it is getting ridiculous and for some reason I think I can't leave the house when it rains. It started off as a nice leisure morning around my house. It was raining and cold outside so we stayed in. By the end of the day we all needed to be separated!!!! Not to mention that I started off having five outdoor photography sessions scheduled for this weekend. Then one cancelled, then another. So I still had three sessions....well two of those were today. You know, the day that showed no rain in the forecast! Yes...those had to be rescheduled. So I still have the one tomorrow and if that one doesn't happen I plan to lay in bed and cry tears to add to the lake which we call our front yard. I have an itch to take pictures and I am ready to take some pictures. So hopefully tomorrow will bring no rain and a little sunshine!

A Boy....ALL BOY

So this is how things were going with Mister E. He runs, climbs and plays. I must say, he is very fast on his feet and was not in to the whole picture taking thing. But I stalked him (especially outside) and finally got a few really good pictures of him that i was please with.

It's so cute to watch how he gets in this swing...he gets way back and gets a running start.

I was able to talk him into sitting on the steps outside for me but he wasn't giving in with a smile. But who cares with those eyes!

He is very serious about his driving skills in the picture to the left. Then in the picture to the right, he is showing me the ant beds.

And then there is this one....my favorite. This is actually an action shot that we were trying to get with his mother but he has his back turned b/c he is trying very hard to get away and he looks back to see if I am still there....and I was!

And here is the whole happy family together. They all really were very great and even dad smiled and didn't seem to mind having his pictures made...guess most men aren't like my husband:) I can't wait to do more pictures of them soon!

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

This picture has a quote on it that reads..."Some people only dream of Angels, we held ours in our arms."

Today, October 15th, is pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day. It is extra special to me that this day falls just 11 short days after the birth and death of my son. I remember the wounds still being fresh but I felt it extremely important to go to a candle light ceremony in remembrance of this day just a short week after having my Cohen. I remember looking at all the mother's around me and seeing their broken hearts right there on their faces. Today we remember everyone who has ever had a loss.

I remember the excitement of becoming pregnant after many months of trying.
I remember the first ultrasound and how I felt like I could finally let me guard down and get excited.
I remember starting to feel like something wasn't right around 10 weeks in to the pregnancy.
I remember going constantly and the doctor calming my fears by finding a healthy heartbeat.
I remember thinking that if my son had a healthy heartbeat then he must be perfect.
I remember going for that 20 week ultrasound and the tech acting strange and printing out 25 pictures and giving me three.
I remember how my heart dropped when the phone rang minutes after getting home from the appointment....when you hear the nurse tell you that your Dr. would like to talk to you then you know this isn't good.
I remember when the specialist told me this was a lethal condition for my baby and choices had to be made.
I remember having peace the day I was in labor.
Most importantly, I remember holding my baby boy and taking my finger and rubbing every inch of his tiny body....I memorized his body at that point and I will never forget it.

Many people lose a baby at some point and if you never do, then you are part of the lucky few. Those of us who have lost a baby know that we think of that child often not just today but to have a day to recognize the losses means a lot.

Today I remember....do you?

A bloody nose and a freaked out mama

So tonight Teg was doing something (my back was turned) and somehow planted his face right in to the entertainment center. Yep...there was blood pouring out of both sides of his nose. It was not a pretty sight at all. I don't know who was worried more, me or Rylee. She didn't know what to do and was a huge help to me. She got me paper towels, regular towels and the phone. Eventually the blood stopped flowing and he has a little cut on his nose but I think he will be fine. But Mama on the other, well I will probably be up and down all night long checking on him. Darn it, I was going to take some Tylenol PM for this headache and inability to sleep but I think I will have to skip it and be on busted nose patrol all night. Of course he wouldn't let me get a picture of him. He perked back up before bedtime just enough to take a toy and smack sweet Rylee across the face....now she will probably have a black eye. So much for doing pictures of these kids this week:(

Sweet Miss E

This past Sunday I had two photo sessions in one day and boy was I tired.  I have to say that I have never loved doing something as much as I love taking pictures.  I am obsessed with looking through them over and over again.  I'm going to start by showing you this little beauty!  She was so perfect for pictures even though she was very tired.  I started with a white background for her but I just wasn't really feeling that on that day so I switched it up to a little brown and pink up.  Who doesn't love brown and pink???

The above picture is one of my favorites.  I'm even thinking of putting it on my business cards.

Sweet Miss E

Look at how precious she is and those beautiful eyes.

She was so tired but trying so hard to stay awake for us.

When I walked in to Mom and Dad's room and saw this beautiful comforter, I just couldn't resist.  It made a great background of pictures.

Stay tuned for pictures of her big brother!

I Heart Faces

This week the excited faces have it. I love this website b/c you get to see so many different pictures. I can't stop looking at it. Since I couldn't just pick one...I picked two:)

So excited about the ocean!

He is shocked that I am taking pics of him while in the bathtub!

On another note, I have been crazy busy. I have school work, sewing work and LOTS of photography work. If every month was this busy with photography then I would do that and nothing else. I just love it. I have FIVE photo sessions this weekend alone and so far NINE for the whole month. I'm already booking up for November. Does it get any better than that???

My everyday readers...I posted twice today so scroll down for pumpkin patch pictures! I know, I'm on a roll!

Pumpkin Patch

or the "Punk Patch" as Teg calls it. We went with some friends and took our kids to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. I always love the pumpkin patch and this year was so much better b/c for the first time ever we decided to go in the evening instead of right at lunch time. Lunch time in early October in Georgia is HOT. So at least we didn't sweat!

The best picture I have ever gotten of my two kids together!

KB, Teg and Rylee all looking in sort of the same direction...a small miracle.

My family

Teg was trying to show KB how strong he was...it didn't work!

Teg was gourd obsessed! We got him one and he has carried it around ever since.

KB...all about the camera!

What a great family pic!

My sweet girl...she loves the pumpkin patch!

She has her own fashion sense....

P.S....she went to school this way!

We went to the County Fair...

Rylee's favorite part!

He was running from me at this point and using the bench as protection!

Teg was serious about driving that airplane!

After our trip to the fair, I vowed to never leave the house with Tegan again and especially not take him to a fair until he is old enough to pay his own way! He was everywhere! He was running circles around people, running in to people, running through peoples legs, etc.... When we would make him hold our hands he would scream bloody murder and try to throw himself on the ground in what I consider a dramatic 2 year old fashion. But I guess he had fun and all the crowds and noise didn't bother him so that is good. Today we are trying the pumpkin patch so I will let you know if Teg will ever go anywhere again after today:)

Running like Superman

Still running!

You get the picture!

Teg's first pony ride. He loved it!

Ry holding on for dear life!
