Photographing Bryson

Why haven't I thought of this before??? I mean I love to take pictures of people but I LOVE to take good and creative pictures of people. Well hopefully this is the beginning of a little money making from that really awesome camera my dear Hubby got me!

I had a session with little man Bryson yesterday afternoon. It had been pouring rain most of the day and the clouds parted just in time for this little man to show how cute he is. At first he was very shy and wouldn't look at me. I still got some great shots of him looking out at the river. Then he warmed up to me and was just so cute. It didn't take much after that to get lots and lots of great pictures. I couldn't even pick from just two to put on here so I didn't...I picked more. I'm not really sure how in the world his mom is going to pick what she wants...there are just to many to choose from.

Photo session Part 2

Photography session Part 1

Me and my sister-in-law took the three grand kids on my hubby's side of the family out for a photo session last night. Here are just a few of the pictures I took of Amy's daughter. I think I am really getting the hang of this photography thing!

I know, I know...I have about a thousand things going on right now but I think I am falling in love with photography. Don't worry, the school will continue but I am hoping to start making a little side money doing outdoor photos of kids, families, couples, etc...
Stay tuned for some group shots!!!! (if I haven't mentioned it before, it takes blogger way to long to upload pictures on here)

Are you talking about me???

Sweet Addison's time as the baby of the family was very short lived. But don't worry...she wouldn't dare miss the birth of her first niece! Although she pretty much slept through it, she did wake up and was so bright eyed that I couldn't help but take some pictures of her! Look at how big and round those eyes are....those are Tabatha eyes except they are the wrong color.

She was looking at her mom as if she was saying "Why are you letting her do this to me?"

New Life- The Finale!!!

So our family has went from giving my mom grand babies to giving her great grand babies! So that means my grandma is now a great great granny for the first time ever! On wed. our little Hannah ( my oldest sisters daughter) had her first child....Maddison Alayna (not sure if I spelled that right). She was 6 lbs 7 oz and Hannah pushed her out like a pro! It was the first time in a while someone in our family didn't have to have a c-section so we were all very proud of her.

Might I add that the grandmother of this baby, which is my oldest sister, is the same one who just had a baby herself on June 8th! Very shortly after birth!

Don't they look to young to be grandparents???

A Different kind of Monday

MckMama's usual Not Me Monday is being replaced this week. Check out all the others by clicking the button above!

So before you watch this video, let me just say that around our house we usually call our private parts a "bottom", so someone has picked up some slang words!!! It is not my child whom has apparently learned where babies come from off of the t.v....and Beethoven none the less??? Who would have thought!!!! Just ignore Tegan repeating CHEESE over and over again in the background, he thought I was trying to take a picture of them. Viewer discretion is advise...

Refreshing...

As you are probably noticing I have another new look. I have totally got this figured out. I made the header this time all by myself. Started completely from scratch in print shop. I'm not crazy about the pictures in it but those are some of the most recent snap shots I took. It's so much fun doing this stuff!

Photography 101

I am a self taught sewer. From start to finish no one has ever taught me how to do anything when it came to sewing. Somehow after a few years I perfected my skills but not without a lot of wasted time and fabrics. Well I am loving my new camera. I love to take pictures of people and also capture small moments that are more like candid shots. I am still trying to figure out if anyone can teach you anything about photography. I don't mean about your camera but I mean about capturing a shot. Some people just have an eye for it and some don't. I'm not sure if I have an eye for it that others can see but I definitely feel like I am always looking for a great picture moment. I have been practicing and have a few people who have mentioned me taking some pictures of them. This week (if we can remember) I plan to do some shots of baby Addie and get some practice in there. I'm trying to decide on a fee amount(not for you Shannon) to charge for sessions. My plan is to not be involved in the printing at all. Just meet people at a location of their choice, take pictures, upload to a CD and they can do what they want with them (You don't get that advantage when you go anywhere else!!!) What would you pay for that???

Where has the time gone...

I'll tell you where...in to all this dang College Algebra that I have been killing myself over. I haven't done anything but sit in front of the computer doing Algebra homework and occasionally stop to check on my kids and eat! Well all that hard work totally paid off today when I got a 67 on my first test. That's right people, I didn't do so hot. My brain can't seem to figure these word problems out which apparently is a problem for me. Let's do an example:

Shannon and Melissa are shopping in the city b/c Shannon must have Melissa to shop with her! Shannon Leaves for home in her car at 3:00 traveling at 48 miles per hour, but Melissa is engrossed in a shoe store and doesn't leave until 3:15. If she drives 66 miles per hour, how long after she leaves does she catch up with Shannon?

Three useless points to the first person who can solve that.

Anyways, in case you haven't caught on I am going to school. I started back last quarter and for the first time ever earned EIGHT college credits. I'm taking three classes this quarter, one of which is Speech. Speaking in front of people is not my idea of fun and neither was it my stomach's idea of a great day. Needless to say I survived and made a 100 on my speech about me and my inability to have a normal pregnancy! Hey, when in doubt make them cry. The teacher could never give a bad grade to the girl that got choked up talking about losing her son! Luckily I wasn't the only one who had a sad story. There were a couple ladies who actually started to cry during their speech. I bet they got extra credit points. No seriously, it wasn't as bad as I thought and if we have about 5 more people drop that class then it will be like talking in front of just the three other people that live in my house.
So if you have been wondering where I have been (MOM who doesn't call b/c she reads my blog, so since I haven't updated she decided to call and check on me) that is it. I have been pouring my heart in to classes only to decide that I must change my major. Apparently they don't like people to do ultrasounds who aren't good at College Algebra! What ever happened to 2+2????

"Not Me" Monday

Not me Monday has a new look. Awesome isn't it! Just click the banner to go to MckMama's blog and read all the other not me's!
I do not not let Rylee go anywhere during the day b/c of the fact that if she isn't at home Tegan runs around screaming "Where Ry Ry go?" over and over and over and over again.
I am a strong mom who can just take her almost two year olds pacifier away and not give in to all the screaming and give it back just for a moments peace!
I started back to school last week. I most certainly was not late to my first class on my first day.
When we went to the beach last week I most certainly did not watch Tegan dip pieces of ice in sand and eat it. Me and Rylee (my six year old) did not get the pleasure of seeing a passed out guy sleeping on the beach in his underwear at 7:00 a.m. in the morning. I wouldn't lie to my daughter and tell her that even though he is covered in sand and laying in the fetal position, that was swimming trunks he was wearing and he was trying to get a suntan. We most certainly did not search for Miley Cyrus who is filming a movie on the island. I did not get excited when I saw that she had signed the wall of an ice cream shop we had stopped at....I mean I am way to old to get excited about seeing her name on a wall.
That's it guys. Go to HERE to read others Not Me's!

Where have all the Dolphins gone???

To Tybee Island!!! We went on a dolphin tour while we were there. All us skeptics adults thought the chances of actually seeing a dolphin was pretty slim....well for the first time in my life, I was wrong:) (I couldn't resist saying that) Anyways we saw lots and lots of dolphins. I mean they were everywhere. We started seeing them less than five minutes in to the tour. Far off and up close. I think we had awesome seats b/c we got at the back of the boat and the dolphins seemed to like playing in the water coming off the back of the boat. It was a very sweet surprise.
Oh and I have to add that one of my facebook friends just put up a status saying that they are at a restaurant called AJ's on Tybee Island and Miley Cyrus is also there. Poor Rylee...didn't get to see her!

Mr. Cool on the boat!

Did we have fun....

Oh yes! It was so nice to get to see the awesomeness (is that a word) of the ocean after not getting to see it for like five years. I love the ocean! I do not go to the beach to set by a pool or do anything else but be at the beach...Paul does not agree with that.
We left really early in the morning on Friday and got down there way before check-in time. So we were pretty much stuck riding around for a little while. Once we made it down to the beach Rylee loved loved loved it. She is definitely my child. Friday night the island did some great fireworks. In fact they were the best fireworks any of us had ever seen. It made it even better that we were sitting on a beach with a wonderful little breeze blowing and didn't have to sit in traffic afterward.
Saturday was spent at the beach and watching Tegan eat ice dipped in sand and play in the sand. Me, Paul and Rylee played in the waves while the Mother-in-laws feet never hit the water....ever....the whole trip!!! Later that evening we went on a dolphin boat tour. Us adults were skeptics and thought the chances of running in to a dolphin was slim to none. Well we were very wrong. We probably saw 30 or 40 or more dolphins with about 6 or so of them coming up close to the boat where we could get a great look at them. It was definitely a highlight of the trip. We ate lots of good food and just enjoyed being away for the weekend. Now we are back to reality! I am going to probably split up these beach pictures in a couple different post b/c there are way to many of them and plus blogger takes forever to upload them!

Waiting for the fireworks on the beach!

Mom we are trying to watch the fireworks...stop with the pictures.

This was Tegan's very first look at the fireworks.

Priceless...

Tomorrow morning (bright and early I might add) we will load up way to much stuff in the back of the car and head out for a very short weekend trip to the beach. To me, you can never stay long enough at the beach so I am just going to enjoy the three short days I get this year. I have totally over packed which includes a pack-n-play, a very large suitcase with way more clothes than we could possibly use in three days, diaper bag, bathroom stuff bag, toys, a just in case anyone gets sick medicine bag....you get the picture. I am a hoarder at heart and can't seem to take enough stuff with us. But I guess it is better to be prepared. Look for lots of pictures next week although I am very nervous about taking that expensive camera near sand and water but what good is it if I don't!
Bags packed....3 hours
House clean.....2 hours
Going to the beach....PRICELESS!

I'm just flowing with creativity...

I finished up my college courses for the spring on June 9th. Ever since then I have been sewing like a made woman b/c I was going in with a friend to have a booth at our counties local July 4th celebration. Well on Sunday my husband suggest that we take off and go somewhere for July 4th weekend. WHAT!!! This is the man who doesn't like to go out to eat, much less leave our property for several days in a row! So I moved as fast as I could to find somewhere to go before he could change his mind. Of course I am pretty sure that he was just saying it to make me happy and in no way believed that I would pull a hotel out of my butt the air on the weekend of the 4th. I mean surely every place would be totally booked up. Well after checking reservations online and having no luck I decided to start calling some places. When it was all over I landed an overpriced reservation that had just been cancelled on little bitty Tybee Island here in Georgia. I know it's not the greatest vacation and it won't be very long but if my feet get to touch sand...I mean real sand, not the kind at a playground...then it totally counts! Unfortunately that means I have to skip out on what was going to be my first public craft fair. But good old Jessica is wonderful and didn't mind and has even offered for me to go ahead and bring all the bags I am have sewing like crazy and she will try to sell them for me. How great!!! So now I have quit the sewing and started the packing. It sucks b/c I have to start my summer quarter classes on Monday so I really didn't take much of a break with all the sewing and stuff but the beach should make up for that. I will leave you with a few pictures of my new stuff. If they don't sell at the craft fair then you can be sure to grab one at my Etsy shop!!!
